Why do you need a companion?
To see the struggle you went through when nobody else knew what it took to keep going.
To see the grief that changed something inside you forever.
To see the mistakes you made when you were still learning who you were.
You need someone who witnesses your redemption, too.
Someone who remembers where you were when you doubted yourself and where you reached when you finally stood up again.
Someone who sees your success and understands the silent effort behind it.
Someone who sees your strength, but also knows the weakness you hide from the world.
Someone who sees your happiness not as a performance, but as something real.
And someone who stays, even when you walk through your darkest days.
Because human beings are not only living life. We are living stories.
And stories ache to be witnessed.
Our struggles become meaningful when someone sees them.
Our victories feel fuller when someone remembers the road we took to reach them.
Even our silence wants a witness.
For validation? For applause? No.
To fix everything, to rescue you from every storm? No.
You need a witness to simply stand there and see you.
Something in us longs to be seen, understood, and held in the memory of another heart.
Our existence, in the end, strives to be witnessed to be meaningful.
