Not to Fix You, Just to Know You ♥️

I do not want to bond over the traumas and aches of your heart;

I simply yearn to learn you.

I don’t want to read your history to understand you;

I want to see who you are today.

I want to know what makes you happy,

and how you sound when you laugh.

I want to know what makes you sad,

and how you wish to process it.

I want to know what you like and dislike,

without asking you why.

I want to know how you think when you’re alone,

and how you are when you’re with people.

I want to know how you feel silence.

I want to know what lingers in your mind,

and what struggles to become a memory.

I want to know what calms you,

and what unsettles you,

without you having to explain it.

I want to know what displaces you,

and what feels like home to you,

even if you’ve never named it.

I want to know how you show up

when nothing is expected of you;

and who you are

when you’re not trying to be understood.

I want to learn the rhythm of your presence,

not the weight of your past.

I want to meet you as you are,

not as what happened to you.

I want conversations that don’t feel like healing sessions,

but like quiet discoveries…

where nothing is being fixed,

yet everything is being seen.

I don’t want to change you to fit me;

I want you to be with me as you are.

I want us to build a space that feels like ours;

where nothing is forced

and nothing is performed.

When your heart feels heavy,

I want YOU to hold MY hand

and take me into your world..

to show me the darkness,

to show me the unhealed wounds,

to show me the painful memories.

I will sit beside you in that place.

We can stay there as long as you need,

without rushing, without escaping.

And then, still holding hands,

we can return to the space we’ve created together;

to breathe,

to smile,

to laugh,

to see,

to hear,

to simply live.
